Role Description The Research and Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for leading R&D; initiatives across Midwest Energy Limited’s key verticals, including advanced materials, energy storage, and clean mobility solutions.

Day-to-day activities include defining R&D; roadmaps, designing and executing experiments, evaluating new technologies and materials, and overseeing prototype development in collaboration with cross-functional engineering and product teams. The manager will coordinate projects from concept to validation, ensure adherence to technical standards and safety protocols,



and prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves mentoring R&D; team members, aligning research priorities with business objectives, and contributing to partnerships with academic institutions, suppliers, and technology collaborators.

Qualifications

- Strong Research and Development (R&D;) and Research skills, including experimental design, data analysis, and problem-solving in engineering or materials science domains.
- Proven Team Management and Team Leadership capabilities to guide, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary R&D; teams.
- Demonstrated Project Management expertise, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and delivery of R&D; milestones on time and within scope.
- Relevant technical background in materials science, mechanical/electrical engineering, energy systems, or a related field; advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) is an advantage.
- Experience in any of the following areas is highly beneficial: advanced materials (e.g., magnets, batteries), energy storage systems, electric mobility, or clean marine technologies.
- Robust communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to prepare high-quality reports and presentations.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, and operate in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
