Role & responsibilities

- Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques
- Performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images;
- Observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post-examination stay in the department.
- Assisting in more complex radiological examinations working with radiologists and doctors and surgeons.
- Providing support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs.
- Recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and observing protocols to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act and patient confidentiality.
- Understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others.
- Ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported.




- Responding to telephone enquiries relating to patients, lab requests, x-rays, prescription

requests etc.
- Co-ordinating appointments for specialist referrals, x-rays lab testing, etc. and conveying

pertinent instructions and information to the patient.
- Completing and co-ordinating consent forms and day sheets.
- Performing other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned.

Activities :

- Loads x-ray film cassettes.
- Takes radiographs.
- Develops, fixes, washes, dries, and files x-ray film.
- Prepares solutions.
- Requisitions supplies and materials.
- Keeps records of x-ray film, unit activities, and related records. Assists in the care and maintenance of x-ray equipment.

Assists in scheduling and arranging for x-ray clinics.

Preferred candidate profile

More than 6 months experience with qualification
