Role Description The Purchasing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for welding consumables, equipment, and related materials. This role oversees vendor identification, evaluation, and negotiation to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules.

Manager will plan and monitor inventory levels, process purchase orders, and coordinate with internal stakeholders such as operations, production, and logistics to ensure timely material availability. The position also involves analyzing market trends, maintaining supplier performance records,



and implementing cost-saving initiatives aligned with company standards and quality requirements.

Qualifications

- Robust procurement and negotiation skills, with experience in vendor management and sourcing of industrial or manufacturing materials.
- Ability to manage inventory, forecast demand, and optimize stock levels to support production and project timelines.
- Proficiency in using ERP or procurement software, and solid skills in MS Excel and other office tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics coordination, and basic contract and commercial terms.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and build long-term supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on cost efficiency and quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; professional certifications in procurement or supply chain are an advantage.
- Prior experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar procurement role within manufacturing, welding, or heavy industry is preferred.
