Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager with expertise in raw material procurement, vendor development, price negotiation, inventory planning, and supplier management. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of quality raw materials at competitive prices to support uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and procure raw materials according to production requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers.
- Maintain solid relationships with vendors, traders, manufacturers, and market sources.
- Negotiate prices, credit terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor commodity prices and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels and prevent stock shortages.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders (POs), goods receipt notes (GRNs), invoices, and related documents.
- Coordinate with production, quality control, stores, accounts, and logistics teams.
- Resolve supplier quality issues, material rejections, and delivery delays.
- Maintain purchase records, MIS reports, and documentation using ERP, Tally, or Excel.
- Monitor supplier performance, purchase costs, and delivery timelines.

Preferred Industry Experience Experience in feed, food, aqua feed, shrimp feed, or pet food manufacturing is preferred.





Knowledge of purchasing the following materials will be an advantage:

- Fish meal, soybean meal, poultry meal, and meat and bone meal
- Maize, rice bran, DORB, and DDGS
- Fish oil, vegetable oils, and other feed-grade oils
- Premixes, vitamins, minerals, and feed additives
- Packaging materials, bags, and liners

Qualifications

- Graduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- MBA or a qualification in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Food Technology, Fisheries, or Animal Nutrition is preferred.
- 5–8 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills

- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Supplier sourcing and development.
- Commodity price tracking and market analysis.
- Inventory planning and cost control.
- Purchase documentation and compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Tally, and MS Excel.
- Strong coordination, follow-up, and communication skills.
- Good communication in English, Hindi, and the local language.
