Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to manage end-to-end procurement activities for a furniture manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier development, cost negotiation, material availability, and timely procurement as per production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Develop procurement plans based on project schedules, BOMs, BOQs, and production requirements.

Manage procurement of plywood, MDF, particleboard, laminates, veneers, edge bands, hardware, metal components, upholstery materials, adhesives, paints, and packaging materials.

Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers based on quality, pricing, capacity, delivery timelines, and service.

Negotiate purchase prices, payment terms, credit periods, freight charges, and other commercial conditions.

Ensure purchase orders contain accurate specifications, quantities, approved brands, colors, thicknesses, and delivery schedules.

Monitor open purchase orders and expedite critical or imported materials to avoid production delays.

Coordinate with Design, PPC, Stores, Quality, Accounts, and Production teams to resolve material shortages and discrepancies.

Monitor supplier performance and develop alternate sources to ensure uninterrupted material availability.

Implement cost-saving initiatives, annual rate contracts, and procurement process improvements.

Control emergency purchases and ensure compliance with approved procurement procedures.

Manage import procurement,



landed-cost evaluation, and supplier claims wherever applicable.

Required Skills and Experience

8–10 years of procurement or purchase management experience in furniture manufacturing, interior fit-outs, or related manufacturing industries.

Strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing materials, including boards, laminates, veneers, hardware, and upholstery materials.

Proven experience in vendor development, price negotiation, and cost control.

Knowledge of BOM/BOQ, purchase orders, inventory coordination, and material planning.

Experience in supplier performance management and delivery follow-up.

Strong commercial, analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and ensure timely material availability.

Adherence to the procurement budget.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with strong experience in furniture or modular furniture manufacturing procurement, knowledge of panel-processing materials, and an established supplier network will be preferred.

Pay: Up to ₹80,000.00 per month
