Role Description The Project Research Scientist - I role is a full-time, in office position based at VIT’s campus in Vellore. The individual in this role will design and conduct experimental or theoretical research studies aligned with funded projects, including planning methodologies, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results.

Daily responsibilities include preparing research protocols, maintaining accurate records, using relevant scientific tools and software, and ensuring compliance with institutional and ethical guidelines. The role involves collaborating with faculty, research scholars, and students, contributing to publications, presentations,



and reports for sponsors and academic journals.

The Project Research

Scientist - I will also support proposal development, assist in project management activities, and help in mentoring junior researchers or students associated with the project.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in relevant scientific or engineering discipline (Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a related field preferred).
- Demonstrated research skills, including experimental or computational design, data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation.
- Proficiency in scientific writing for reports, publications, and conference presentations, with attention to clarity and accuracy.
- Ability to use appropriate laboratory equipment, software tools, and research methodologies specific to the project domain.
- Good project management, time management, and documentation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with faculty, research staff, and students in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Familiarity with research ethics, institutional review processes, and safety practices in academic research settings.
- Prior experience in funded research projects, publications in peer-reviewed journals, or presentations at conferences is an advantage.
