: Production Manager

Exodus Futura Knit Pvt. Ltd. is a vertically integrated knitwear manufacturer near Kolkata (knitting, dyeing, cutting, embroidery, printing, sewing and finishing), making casual wear and intimate wear for domestic retail, e-commerce and export. ISO, SEDEX and BSCI certified, 900+ employees.

Role overview

This role owns output, efficiency and on-time delivery on every sewing line, from cutting to packing.

Reports to: Factory Head · Location: Sonarpur · Experience: 5+ years in garment production, with at least 2 years managing multiple lines

Responsibilities

- Plan and monitor daily production for each line against the order plan, and keep line loading aligned with the Merchandising team’s delivery dates.
- Own line efficiency: set targets, balance operations, reduce changeover time, and review output hourly.
- Manage the line supervisors, line chiefs and floor in-charges, and review their performance daily.
- Track WIP, rework, rejection and defects per hundred units (DHU) with the QC team, and drive quality at source.
- Make sure cutting, sewing, finishing and packing are in sync, and that fabric, trims and cut panels are ready before each style is loaded.
- Control manpower:



attendance, absenteeism, skill allocation, overtime and multi-skill training.
- Work with the Maintenance Head to reduce machine downtime.
- Report daily and weekly output, efficiency and plan achievement to the Factory Head.
- Support Industrial Engineering on standard minute values (SMV), method improvement and line layouts.

Requirements
- 5+ years in garment or knitwear production, with line management experience.
- Strong knowledge of sewing operations, line balancing, SMV and efficiency calculation.
- Experience running high-volume lines, ideally for retail chain or export buyers.
- Comfortable with daily production reports, ERP or Excel tracking.
- Diploma or degree in apparel production or textile technology preferred.

Good to have: exposure to lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen and line balancing; experience with intimate wear or basics.
