About the Role

Mahalaxmi Flexible Packaging is looking for an experienced Production Head to lead all manufacturing operations across our flexible and paper-based packaging lines. The role carries full responsibility for production output, quality, cost control, on-time delivery, safety and team performance. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in flexible packaging manufacturing and paper packaging, and can run a plant efficiently while building a strong, disciplined production team.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Execution

- Plan, schedule and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production across printing, lamination, slitting, pouch/bag making and paper conversion departments.
- Ensure on-time delivery of customer orders by coordinating closely with Sales, PPC, Procurement and Dispatch.
- Optimise machine utilisation, changeover times and job sequencing to maximise throughput and OEE.
- Drive achievement of production targets while keeping wastage within defined limits.

Process & Technical Management
- Oversee rotogravure and/or flexographic printing, solvent-based and solventless lamination, extrusion/coating (where applicable), slitting, and pouch/bag making operations.
- Manage paper packaging processes, including paper-based laminates, paper pouches/bags, coated and barrier papers, and sustainable/recyclable paper-based packaging formats.
- Ensure correct process parameters, ink/adhesive/solvent usage, curing, and film/paper handling to maintain consistent quality.
- Lead new product trials, material development and process improvements, including mono-material and paper-based sustainable structures.

Quality & Compliance




- Work with the Quality team to reduce rejections, customer complaints and rework.
- Ensure adherence to food-grade packaging standards and systems such as BRC, ISO, FSSAI requirements, GMP and customer specifications.
- Maintain proper documentation, batch traceability and process records.

Cost, Wastage & Efficiency
- Control material consumption, wastage, power, manpower and consumables to meet budgeted cost per kg/unit.
- Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, TPM and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and review MIS reports on production, yield, wastage, downtime and productivity, and present them to management.

Maintenance & Equipment
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns.
- Evaluate and recommend machinery upgrades, new equipment purchases and capacity expansion.

People Management & Safety
- Lead, mentor and develop supervisors, shift in-charges, operators and technicians.
- Plan manpower, shift rosters and skill development; manage discipline and performance.
- Ensure a safe workplace, with strict compliance to EHS norms, especially for solvent handling, fire safety and machine safety.

Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Printing Technology, Packaging Technology, Chemical, Mechanical or Production Engineering. Diploma in Printing/Packaging Technology with strong relevant experience may be considered. MBA/PGDM in Operations is a plus.
- Experience: 12–18 years in flexible packaging manufacturing,



with at least 5 years in a senior production or plant management role.
- Mandatory: Proven experience in paper packaging and in flexible packaging manufacturing (printing, lamination, slitting and pouch making).
- Experience managing a plant with multiple shifts and a large team.

Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of flexible packaging materials: BOPP, PET, PE, CPP, metallised films, aluminium foil, barrier and coated papers.
- Good understanding of inks, adhesives, solvents and coating chemistry.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MIS systems and production planning tools.
- Strong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage customer expectations and handle quality escalations.
- Positive communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Hands-on, results-oriented and cost-conscious approach.

Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary as per industry standards and experience, with applicable benefits and performance incentives. Salary range: ₹30,000 – ₹50,000 per month, depending on experience and current compensation.
