About the Role

Devi Polymers is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement for its compounds and moulded components businesses.

The scope includes chemicals, resins and other ingredients for SMC/DMC compounds, along with raw materials and bought-out items such as nuts, bolts and inserts for component manufacturing.

The person will lead the procurement team and be accountable for material availability, purchase costs, supplier quality and vendor performance. The role requires strong commercial negotiation skills and close coordination with technical, new product development, quality and production teams to meet DPPL’s pricing and margin targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead procurement planning and execution: Translate production plans, customer orders and development requirements into timely purchases, ensuring material availability.
- Meet pricing and cost targets: Negotiate prices, payment terms and supply conditions in line with DPPL’s approved material cost targets and product costing assumptions. Flag deviations early and drive actions to close gaps.
- Lead the team: Set clear responsibilities and targets, develop team capabilities and ensure disciplined follow-through on enquiries, purchase orders, deliveries and supplier issues.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships: Maintain strong relationships with chemical companies, resin manufacturers and component suppliers to secure reliable supply, technical support and competitive commercial terms.
- Support new product development: Work with technical and development teams to source suitable materials, obtain samples and quotations, coordinate trials and establish dependable supply before production begins.
- Drive cost reduction: Identify alternate suppliers, equivalent materials, opportunities to standardise specifications and better purchasing arrangements. Coordinate technical and quality validation before implementing changes.
- Ensure supplier quality: Work with quality teams on supplier evaluation, material acceptance criteria,

documentation, non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Stay current with vendor developments: Maintain regular contact with suppliers to track new materials, product improvements, price movements, lead times and supply risks, and bring relevant opportunities to DPPL.
- Develop the supplier base: Qualify alternate sources for critical materials and reduce dependence on single suppliers.
- Control inventory and working capital: Coordinate with stores, production and finance to set appropriate stock levels, manage minimum order quantities and reduce excess, slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Maintain procurement controls and reporting: Ensure accurate specifications, quotation comparisons, approvals and purchase records; review purchase price variances, savings, supplier delivery and outstanding issues.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Experience procuring chemicals, resins, polymer raw materials and/or engineering bought-out components for manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation, supplier development and commercial evaluation skills.
- Ability to understand material specifications and work effectively with technical, quality and new product development teams.
- Proven experience delivering cost savings while meeting quality and delivery requirements.
- Experience leading a procurement team and managing multiple purchasing categories.
- Working knowledge of inventory planning, supplier quality systems and ERP-based procurement.
- Strong analytical skills, ownership and cross-functional coordination.

Key Performance Measures

- Purchase costs against DPPL’s pricing and material cost targets.
- Validated cost savings and their impact on product margins.
- Supplier on-time delivery and material availability.
- Supplier quality and corrective-action closure.
- Timely sourcing and qualification for recent product development.
- Alternate-source development for critical materials.
- Inventory levels and reduction in slow-moving stock.
- Procurement team performance and purchase-order turnaround time.
