About the Role

Devi Polymers is looking for an experienced technical leader to head its compounds function, covering Sheet Moulding Compounds (SMC) and Dough Moulding Compounds (DMC). The person will take ownership of the compounds business’s profit and loss (P&L;), material development and quality, while maintaining key vendor relationships with chemical companies.

The role requires robust formulation expertise, commercial judgement and the ability to lead teams across development, testing and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the compounds P&L;: Plan and manage revenue, costs, pricing inputs and margins, with accountability for profitability.
- Lead formulation and development: Develop new compounds and improve existing formulations to meet customer requirements, performance standards and cost targets.
- Take ownership of quality: Establish raw material, in-process and finished compound quality standards; ensure consistent performance and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage key vendor relationships: Build and maintain relationships with chemical companies and raw material suppliers, working with procurement on pricing, supply continuity, technical support and alternate material qualification.
- Drive cost and process improvements: Optimise material selection, formulations, yields and production processes to reduce waste and improve margins.
- Resolve technical issues:



Investigate material defects, customer complaints and moulding performance issues, and implement lasting corrective actions.
- Lead the department: Guide laboratory, development and quality personnel; establish targets and review performance.
- Collaborate across functions: Work with sales, procurement, production and engineering to align customer commitments with technical capability and commercial viability.
- Ensure reliable testing, technical documentation, traceability and compliance with applicable quality, safety and environmental requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Relevant degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in thermoset compounds, preferably SMC/DMC, including formulation, testing and manufacturing support.
- Experience leading a technical, compounds or quality function.
- Ability to manage product costing, budgets, margins and P&L; performance.
- Experience working directly with chemical companies and managing strategic supplier relationships.
- Strong understanding of raw materials, polymer properties, testing methods and quality systems.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, team leadership and customer communication skills.

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per month
