Role & responsibilities

- Dispense medicines accurately as per doctors prescription

- Verify prescriptions for dosage, interactions, and contraindications

- Maintain proper storage of medicines including cold chain and controlled drugs

- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and batch numbers

- Indent, receive, and verify medicines from approved vendors

- Maintain pharmacy registers and documentation as per hospital policy

- Ensure availability of emergency and life-saving drugs

- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, and precautions

- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and wards for medication requirements

- Follow statutory guidelines under Drugs & Cosmetics Act

- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene in the pharmacy area

- Handle billing entries and coordination with billing department

- Manage returns, near-expiry, and non-moving stock

- Participate in audits and inventory checks

- Report adverse drug reactions and medication errors
