- Install, configure, administer, maintain, and upgrade PostgreSQL databases.
- Manage database creation, schemas, users, roles, tablespaces, and access privileges.
- Monitor PostgreSQL database health, availability, capacity, storage, connections, logs, and performance.
- Perform SQL and database performance tuning using EXPLAIN, EXPLAIN ANALYZE, pg_stat_statements, and related diagnostic utilities.
- Identify and resolve slow queries, locking, blocking sessions, deadlocks, high CPU/memory utilization, and I/O bottlenecks.
- Perform VACUUM, ANALYZE, autovacuum tuning, index maintenance, and database housekeeping.




- Configure and troubleshoot streaming replication and logical replication.
- Implement and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions.
- Perform database backup, restore, and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR).
- Work with PostgreSQL utilities such as:
- pg_dump / pg_restore
- pg_basebackup
- pgBackRest / Barman
- PgBouncer
- Patroni / repmgr
- Perform major and minor PostgreSQL version upgrades with minimal downtime.
- Participate in database migrations across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Automate recurring DBA activities using Shell/Bash and Python scripting.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot critical P1/P2 incidents.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for database incidents and recurring problems.
- Participate in DR drills, capacity planning, database health checks, patching, and change activities.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, cloud, and development teams
