About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient Operations & Maintenance (O&M;) Manager to manage and oversee water and wastewater treatment facilities, including STP, ETP, WTP, RO, ATFD, MEE, MVR, and Boiler systems.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, proven experience in plant operations and maintenance, team management capabilities, client-handling skills, and the ability to optimize plant performance while ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

The candidate will also support technical proposals, business development activities, and operational improvement initiatives across multiple project locations in India.

Key Technical Competencies The candidate must possess sound working knowledge and hands-on experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of the following systems:

STP – Sewage Treatment Plant: Treatment processes, biological systems, sludge management, equipment maintenance, and treated water quality.

ETP – Effluent Treatment Plant: Industrial wastewater treatment, chemical dosing, process control, effluent quality monitoring, and statutory compliance.

WTP – Water Treatment Plant: Clarification, filtration, softening, disinfection, and water quality management.

RO – Reverse Osmosis Systems: Membrane operations, pretreatment, CIP, recovery optimization, and troubleshooting.

ATFD – Agitated Thin Film Dryer: Drying operations, thermal performance, product handling, and equipment maintenance.

MEE – Multiple Effect Evaporator: Evaporation processes, steam consumption optimization, scaling control, and condensate management.

MVR – Mechanical Vapor Recompression: Vapor recompression systems, energy efficiency, process control, and operational troubleshooting.

Boilers: Boiler operations, preventive maintenance, combustion efficiency, water treatment, safety systems, and statutory requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Operations & Maintenance Management

Manage end-to-end O&M; activities across water and wastewater treatment plants. Ensure smooth plant operations, equipment reliability, process stability, and achievement of performance targets.

Implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.





Monitor plant performance, energy consumption, chemical usage, water recovery, and operating costs.

- Technical Troubleshooting and Optimization

Identify and resolve operational, mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues in coordination with relevant technical teams. Analyze plant performance data and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Improve plant efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize resource utilization.

Ensure compliance with client-specific process parameters and treatment quality requirements.

- Manpower Planning and Team Leadership

Plan manpower requirements and deploy personnel across project sites. Lead and supervise engineers, supervisors, technicians, and plant operators.

Conduct technical training, performance reviews, and safety awareness sessions.

Ensure effective shift management, work allocation, and workforce productivity.

- Client Management and Coordination

Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with clients. Attend technical meetings, review plant performance, and address operational concerns.

Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, service, and management teams.

Ensure timely resolution of client complaints and achievement of agreed service levels.

- Technical Proposals and Business Development Support

Assist in preparing technical and commercial proposals for O&M; contracts and water/wastewater treatment projects. Review technical specifications, process requirements, scope of work, and operating costs.

Support technical presentations, client discussions, site assessments, and tender submissions.

Provide technical inputs to the marketing and business development teams.

- Safety, Quality, and Environmental Compliance

Ensure adherence to applicable safety procedures, environmental regulations, and statutory requirements. Implement safe operating practices, risk assessments, and emergency response procedures.

Monitor treatment quality, operational records, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Reporting and Performance Monitoring

Prepare periodic operational, maintenance, manpower, and performance reports. Monitor KPIs,



plant availability, downtime, operating expenditure, and service quality.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

Ensure proper documentation and reporting to senior management and clients.

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong technical understanding of water and wastewater treatment technologies.

Proven experience in managing plant operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong leadership, manpower management, and decision-making abilities.

Good client relationship management and coordination skills.

Ability to prepare technical proposals and support business development.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and operational planning skills.

Knowledge of EHS practices, environmental standards, and relevant statutory compliance.

Willingness to travel extensively or relocate anywhere in India based on project requirements.

Educational Qualifications

B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Civil, or a relevant engineering discipline.

Diploma in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.

Science Graduate with substantial relevant industry experience.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience in water and wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance.

Experience in handling multiple treatment technologies and managing teams across project sites will be an advantage.

Candidates with experience in industrial wastewater treatment, ZLD systems, evaporation and drying technologies, RO plants, and boiler operations are encouraged to apply.
