Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Head of Department (HOD) – Offshore Structural to lead the offshore structural engineering function. The role involves providing technical leadership, managing engineering teams, ensuring quality and compliance, and overseeing the successful execution of offshore structural engineering projects across global operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Offshore Structural Engineering Department across multiple project locations and execution centres.
- Provide technical leadership and act as the technical authority for offshore structural engineering.
- Oversee structural engineering activities for offshore platforms, topsides, jackets, floating systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Review and approve design philosophies, structural analysis, engineering methodologies, and key technical deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international codes, industry standards, project specifications, and engineering procedures.
- Manage departmental resources, workforce planning, recruitment, competency development, and team performance.
- Oversee engineering delivery across Pre-FEED, FEED, detailed engineering, and PMC project phases.
- Support tenders and proposals through technical inputs, manhour estimation, scheduling, and value engineering.
- Conduct technical reviews, quality audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.




- Coordinate with project management teams, clients, fabrication yards, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Promote digital engineering, 3D modelling, and the effective use of offshore structural analysis tools such as SACS and SESAM.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. A Master's degree is preferred.
- 22–25 years of relevant qualified experience, with substantial exposure to offshore structural engineering.
- Currently handling Head of Department (HOD) or equivalent department-level responsibilities.
- Strong experience in offshore oil & gas projects, including topsides, jackets, offshore platforms, or floating systems.
- Proven track record in department leadership, technical governance, engineering delivery, and resource management.
- Strong knowledge of offshore structural engineering codes, standards, design reviews, and quality requirements.
- Experience with SACS, SESAM, or comparable structural analysis software is desirable.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates currently leading an Offshore Structural Engineering Department within an offshore oil & gas engineering consultancy, EPC, or engineering services organization are preferred.
