: Merchandising Manager

Exodus Futura Knit Pvt. Ltd. is a vertically integrated knitwear manufacturer near Kolkata (knitting, dyeing, cutting, embroidery, printing, sewing and finishing), making casual wear and intimate wear for domestic retail, e-commerce and export. ISO, SEDEX and BSCI certified, 900+ employees.

Role overview

This role is the main link between our clients and our factory. It owns buyer communication, style development and on-time, in-spec delivery.

Reports to: Managing Director · Location: Kolkata office / Sonarpur · Experience: 5+ years in apparel merchandising (knitwear preferred)

Responsibilities

- Be the day-to-day contact for buyers: enquiries, tech packs, comments, approvals, order confirmations and shipment updates.
- Develop client styles with the Sampling team, and follow each style from sample to bulk approval.
- Prepare costings and quotations, and negotiate prices and terms within management’s limits.
- Raise bills of materials, and plan yarn, fabric and trims purchase with Purchase and the knitting and dyeing units.
- Prepare the time and action (T&A;) calendar for each order, and track it weekly across sampling, fabric, cutting, sewing, finishing and dispatch.
- Coordinate with Production and QC on capacity, line loading,



inline and final inspections, and shipment dates.
- Share a weekly order status report with management, covering delays, risks and cash-flow impact.
- Handle buyer compliance documents and audits with the Admin/HR Head and QC, including SEDEX, BSCI and buyer-specific requirements.
- Find and develop new buyers with the Managing Director, including domestic retail chains, e-commerce and export clients.

Requirements
- 5+ years of merchandising experience in knitwear or garments, with direct buyer handling.
- Strong understanding of fabrics, GSM, yarn, trims, costing and production processes.
- Clear written and spoken English, and strong follow-up and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel and ERP or order tracking systems.
- Graduate or diploma in apparel merchandising, textiles or fashion; NIFT or similar preferred.

Positive to have: experience with large Indian retail chains, kids’ brands or export buyers.
