Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee mechanical maintenance activities at our manufacturing facility. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, reliability, and operational efficiency of plant machinery and equipment through effective preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in mechanical troubleshooting, equipment inspection, maintenance planning, and manpower supervision. The candidate should be capable of identifying equipment failures, implementing corrective measures, minimising machine downtime, and ensuring compliance with plant safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

- Supervise and execute preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and rectify mechanical faults to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
- Perform maintenance activities on industrial motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, couplings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Carry out equipment inspection, lubrication, alignment, and replacement of mechanical components.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify potential mechanical failures.
- Ensure the proper functioning and reliability of mechanical systems and equipment.

2. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

- Prepare, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for plant machinery and equipment.
- Attend to mechanical breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify abnormal operating conditions and potential equipment failures.
- Analyse recurring breakdowns and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with production teams to plan maintenance activities with minimal disruption to production operations.




- Recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability, performance, and maintenance efficiency.

3. Maintenance Manpower Supervision

- Supervise and coordinate the activities of mechanical fitters, technicians, and other maintenance personnel.
- Allocate daily maintenance jobs and monitor work completion.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel in equipment troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Ensure effective utilisation of maintenance manpower and resources.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to address equipment-related issues.

4. Maintenance Planning & Documentation

- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, breakdown reports, equipment service history, and maintenance records.
- Prepare daily maintenance reports and equipment downtime reports.
- Monitor the availability of critical spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials.
- Coordinate with the stores department for spare parts requirements and inventory planning.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment servicing.

5. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and PPE standards during maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper isolation of mechanical equipment before undertaking maintenance work.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and applicable safety practices.
- Identify unsafe conditions and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with company safety standards and procedures.

6. Vendor & Contractor Coordination

- Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for mechanical equipment servicing, repairs, and maintenance support.




- Monitor contractor activities and ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance-related improvement projects.

Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Candidates with relevant hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment will be preferred.

Experience & Technical Competencies
- 3–7 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing, engineering, metal processing, or industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Practical knowledge of industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and equipment maintenance.
- Experience in handling mechanical fitters and maintenance technicians.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, bearings, and lubrication systems.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance planning, breakdown analysis, and spare parts management.
- Familiarity with industrial safety practices and maintenance procedures.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
