Job Overview

Panasia Export house is looking for a senior, versatile Master Tailor & Pattern Cutter (Masterji) to head the cutting and garment assembly floor of our new sampling and boutique production studio in Mumbai.

This role requires expertise in pattern drafting, precision cutting, and fit engineering across both luxury ethnic wear (Pakistani lawn suits, heavily embroidered anarkalis, kaftans, lehengas, bespoke abayas) and contemporary western silhouettes (tailored blazers, dresses, shirts, trousers). You will work closely with our Studio Lead to translate designer sketches and digital tech packs into production-ready samples and low-MOQ runs for export clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Pattern Drafting & Making: Create flawless master paper/cardboard patterns directly from physical garments, design sketches, reference photographs, and digital measurement charts.
- Grading & Sizing: Accurately grade base patterns across standard international size runs (UK/US/EU 6 to 18).
- Fabric Estimation & Precision Cutting: Calculate exact fabric consumption to minimize wastage on expensive silks, velvets, chiffons, and organzas; execute precision manual cutting for both plain and heavily embroidered/printed fabrics (pattern-matching checks, borders, and motifs).
- Tailoring Floor Supervision: Distribute cut panels to stitching tailors, provide clear construction instructions (seam allowances, interlining, French seams, concealed zips), and inspect pieces at every stage of assembly.
- Fit & Alteration Mastery:



Conduct fittings on dress forms and live models; diagnose drape or balance issues and make immediate pattern adjustments.
- Digital & Tech Collaboration: Comfortable reviewing digital tech packs and visual reference briefs on a tablet/smartphone alongside the Fashion Merchandiser.

Candidate Requirements

- 6+ years of hands-on experience as a Master Cutter / Sampling Master in an apparel export house, designer atelier, or high-end bespoke boutique.
- Dual expertise in Western pattern drafting (dart manipulation, collars, armholes, structured tailoring) and Luxury Ethnic/Bridal wear.
- Deep material knowledge: handling delicate sheer fabrics (viscose chiffon, chinon, georgette, organza) without fraying, slipping, or distortion.
- Strong leadership to manage 3–6 tailors and maintain delivery discipline.
- Basic comfort with digital tools (smartphones, WhatsApp production groups, photo markups).

Senior Sample Stitching Tailor (Karigar) Senior Stitching Tailor / Sample Karigar (Export & Couture) We are also hiring an experienced Senior Tailors capable of stitching complete high-end garments from start to finish with export-grade finish.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

- Assemble complete garments from cut panels—including evening gowns, Western tailored dresses, luxury kaftans, Pakistani pret suits, and lined ethnic wear.
- Master luxury finishing techniques: clean French seams, invisible hems, bias binding, piped edges, delicate interlinings, and concealed zipper insertions.
- Work cleanly with complex materials: chiffon, organza, silk satin, velvet, and pre-embroidered/sequined panels.
- 5+ years experience in designer export houses or premier bridal boutiques
