: Maintenance Head

Exodus Futura Knit Pvt. Ltd. is a vertically integrated knitwear manufacturer near Kolkata (knitting, dyeing, cutting, embroidery, printing, sewing and finishing), making casual wear and intimate wear for domestic retail, e-commerce and export. ISO, SEDEX and BSCI certified, 900+ employees.

Role overview

This role keeps every machine and utility across both units running, so that breakdowns stop costing us production time.

Reports to: Factory Head · Location: Sonarpur and Bishnupur · Experience: 5+ years in factory maintenance; must be an engineer

Responsibilities

- Lead overall maintenance for sewing, cutting, embroidery, knitting and dyeing machines and for factory utilities (boilers, DG sets, compressors, electrical systems, water and ETP).
- Build and run a preventive maintenance schedule for every machine, with a logbook and history card for each.
- Track breakdown frequency, downtime and repeat failures, and report machine availability to the Factory Head every week.
- Keep a stock of critical spares and needles, and control spare parts purchase and consumption.
- Manage the mechanics and electricians: shift rosters, skill training and job allocation.
- Plan machine installation, shifting and layout changes,



with the Production Manager.
- Manage energy use (power, steam, fuel, water) and set targets to reduce it.
- Ensure statutory safety compliance: boiler and pressure vessel certificates, electrical and fire safety, and machine guarding.
- Evaluate current machines and AMC vendors, and manage vendor service contracts.

Requirements
- B.E. / B.Tech or diploma engineering degree in mechanical, electrical or textile engineering.
- 5+ years in factory maintenance, preferably in a garment, knitting or textile processing unit.
- Hands-on knowledge of industrial sewing machines, circular knitting machines or dyeing machinery.
- Understanding of TPM, preventive and predictive maintenance, and spare parts management.
- Knowledge of factory safety and statutory compliance.

Good to have: experience in a dyeing unit with ETP and boilers; experience reducing downtime in an existing plant.
