Key Responsibilities

- Inspect castings and components as per engineering drawings and inspection standards.

- Check dimensions, tolerances, machining allowances, and casting allowances.

- Perform layout inspection using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and dial indicators.

- Verify critical dimensions, hole locations, centre distances, flatness, and alignment.

- Prepare inspection reports and dimensional layout reports.

- Identify casting defects such as cracks, shrinkage, porosity, and dimensional deviations.

- Coordinate with the production, machining, and quality departments to resolve inspection issues.

- Use instruments such as a surface plate, height master, profile projector, or CMM where applicable.

- Ensure compliance with customer drawings, specifications, and quality procedures.





- Maintain inspection records, calibration status, and traceability of inspected components.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- ITI, Diploma, or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

- Experience in foundry inspection, casting quality, or dimensional inspection is preferred.

- Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T;, and dimensional tolerances.

- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.

- Knowledge of casting processes, including sand casting, moulding, and core-making.

- Basic knowledge of Excel and inspection documentation.
