A Lab Assistant for Chemistry, Physics, and Mechanics laboratories prepares equipment, manages chemical and mechanical stock, assists faculty during practical sessions, and enforces strict safety and cleanliness protocols

Key Responsibilities

- Practical Session Support: Set up apparatus, test equipment, and prepare chemical solutions, reagents, or mechanical mock-ups before classes begin. Assist instructors during experiments. [1, 2, 3, 4]

- Chemistry Lab Duties: Mix accurate chemical concentrations, manage fume hoods, handle hazardous materials, and properly store or dispose of chemical waste. [1, 2, 3]

- Physics &
- Mechanics Lab Duties:

Calibrate, inspect, and maintain mechanical devices, optical benches, electronic instruments, and measurement apparatus. Troubleshoot or coordinate repairs for broken hardware. [1]

- Equipment &

- Cleanliness Maintenance:

Clean laboratory benches, wash and sterilize glassware, and ensure all workstations are left tidy after student use. [1, 2, 3]

- Inventory &

- Stock Management:

Track supplies, chemicals, spare parts, and tools using stock registers or inventory logs.



Reorder depleted items and manage user manuals or safety data sheets (SDS / MSDS). [1, 2, 3]

- Safety Enforcement: Monitor labs to ensure students and staff follow safety rules, wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and know how to respond to spills or emergencies. [1, 2, 3]

- Required Qualifications &

- Skills

- Education: Minimum 12th Pass with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology), or an Associate/Bachelor's degree in Science, Chemistry, or Physics for higher-level or research-oriented labs. [1, 2, 3, 4]

- Technical Skills: Familiarity with laboratory glassware, chemical mixing, basic mechanical/physics apparatus calibration, and safety data sheet (SDS) compliance. [1, 2, 3]

- Soft Skills: Manual dexterity for handling delicate or exact instruments, strong organizational and record-keeping skills, attention to detail, and basic communication to guide students

Pay: ₹9,100.00 - ₹29,000.00 per month
