About the Role

Orange Health Labs is looking for motivated Junior Lab Technicians to join our diagnostic laboratory team in Hyderabad. This role is ideal for candidates with a qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology who want to gain practical experience and develop their careers in diagnostic healthcare.

Freshers with the required educational background are welcome to apply. Candidates with experience in hospital laboratories, diagnostic centres, or clinical testing facilities will also be considered.

As a Junior Lab Technician, you will assist with routine laboratory investigations, specimen preparation, analyzer operations, quality checks, and documentation while ensuring that all assigned work meets laboratory standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Check, identify, label, and prepare patient specimens for laboratory testing.
- Perform sample preparation activities such as centrifugation, aliquoting, separation, and storage.
- Assist with routine diagnostic investigations across Biochemistry, Hematology, and Clinical Pathology.
- Perform assigned tests using manual laboratory techniques and automated analyzers.
- Operate laboratory instruments according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Carry out routine quality control activities and maintain the necessary records.
- Ensure sample integrity and accuracy throughout the testing process.
- Report sample discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and unusual observations to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records and test-related documentation.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, biosafety requirements, and biomedical waste disposal practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across the assigned work area.




- Coordinate with senior technicians and laboratory supervisors to support daily testing activities.
- Complete assigned tasks within the required turnaround time while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Areas of Responsibility Based on laboratory requirements, the selected candidate may work in the following sections:

Biochemistry

- Preparation and processing of samples for biochemical investigations.
- Assistance with automated analyzer handling and routine testing.
- Quality control checks and maintenance of test records.

Hematology

- Processing blood specimens for routine investigations.
- Operating automated hematology analyzers as trained.
- Maintaining quality standards and accurate documentation.

Clinical Pathology

- Handling and processing urine and other clinical specimens.
- Assisting with routine manual testing procedures.
- Ensuring appropriate sample identification and record keeping.

Eligibility Criteria

Required qualification:

- DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology).
- BMLT (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology).
- B.Sc. MLT / B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Equivalent recognized qualification specifically in Medical Laboratory Technology.

Experience:

- Freshers are eligible to apply.
- Prior experience in a diagnostic laboratory, hospital, or clinical testing workplace is an advantage.

Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of diagnostic laboratory procedures.
- Understanding of sample processing and specimen handling.




- Foundational knowledge of Biochemistry, Hematology, and Clinical Pathology.
- Awareness of quality control procedures and laboratory safety practices.
- Familiarity with laboratory analyzers and diagnostic equipment is an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy laboratory setting.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to laboratory processes and equipment.

Work Schedule
- Full-time position based in Hyderabad.
- Rotational shifts as per operational requirements.
- Weekend duties based on the work schedule.
- Rotational weekly offs.
