Above The Mall Road, The Verdun is entering the final phase of a restoration begun in 2023. More than 25 tonnes of traditionally slaked lime mortar, lime plaster and washes, deodar joinery and carefully recreated details underpin its revival. Learn through the building itself Work with traditional lime, historic materials and Edwardian detailing.

Help recreate period interiors, from woodwork and flooring to fixtures, hardware and furnishings. Translate drawings into precise site work alongside skilled craftspeople. Gain first-hand experience of restoration decisions, balancing authenticity, craftsmanship, aesthetics and practical constraints.

The role

Site Supervision &Quality; Control

- Supervise daily work against approved designs. Check dimensions, levels, alignments, proportions, junctions and finishes.
- Coordinate trades, spot errors early and follow upon corrections. Verify materials and samples, record progress and prioritise pending work.

Architectural Detailing & Design Implementation
- Translate drawings, sketches and references into site instructions.
- Prepare CAD details, measured sketches and as-built records. Detail paths, stairs, landings, railings and landscape features. Research period details and coordinate interior finishes, mock-ups and samples.





Site Coordination &Project; Management
- Liaise with craftspeople, contractors, suppliers and the owner. Track material needs, deliveries, quality and wastage.
- Maintain schedules, task lists and progress reports. Flag delays and deviations promptly. Support a protected, orderly site and protect historic fabric.

Documentation &Heritage; Outreach
- Photograph processes, details, techniques and milestones. Archive drawings, photographs, videos, specifications and site records.
- Help organise restoration workshops and visits. Create visual and written content for @VerdunRevival and its heritage and conservation audience.

Requirement B.Arch or recognised equivalent; 0–2 years.AutoCAD or equivalent, sound drawing and construction knowledge, visual judgement and attention to detail. Clear communication with craftspeople, organisation, initiative and a genuine interest in heritage.

SketchUp and graphics tools; photography, video editing and social content. Exposure to restoration, adaptive reuse or interior detailing. Working Hindi. Prior restoration experience is not essential: curiosity and commitment matter.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
