1. Job Purpose The Junior Cost Estimation & Documentation Engineer will support the estimation, tendering, costing, quotation preparation, and project documentation activities. The role involves obtaining vendor/subcontractor quotations, preparing commercial offers, and maintaining project-related documentation.

2. Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimation & Tendering

Study tender documents, BOQ, specifications, drawings, scope of work, and client requirements.

Prepare material, manpower, equipment, installation, transportation, and other project cost estimates. Prepare rate analysis for various items and activities.

Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

Prepare comparative statements for materials, equipment, and subcontracting works.

Assist in preparing techno-commercial offers and quotations.

Ensure all tender requirements, exclusions, assumptions, and commercial conditions are properly considered. Identify scope gaps, deviations, exclusions, and additional requirements during tender review.

Coordinate with the design, execution, procurement, and commercial teams for accurate estimation. Maintain records of submitted quotations and tender status.

Documentation

Prepare and maintain tender submission documents.

Prepare quotation letters, rate schedules, BOQ, price-bid sheets, technical compliance sheets, and commercial documents.

Maintain records of client enquiries, offers, revisions, negotiations, and final quotations.

Prepare and maintain vendor/subcontractor quotation records.

Assist in preparing work orders,



purchase requisitions, comparative statements, and related documentation.

Maintain project documentation in an organized and traceable manner.

Support preparation of project handover and close-out documentation when required.

Commercial Support

Track material price changes and obtain updated market/vendor rates.

Support preparation of revised offers during commercial negotiations.

Assist in calculating margins, overheads, taxes, transportation, wastage, and other applicable costs.

Maintain a database of standard material rates and historical project costs.

Assist in preparing rate justification and cost-breakup sheets.

Coordination & Follow-up

Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for quotations and technical/commercial clarifications.

Follow up with internal departments for pending information required for estimation.

Participate in tender clarification meetings and prepare required follow-up documentation.

Coordinate with project/site teams to obtain actual consumption, execution quantities, and cost information for future estimates.

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of engineering estimation and costing.

Good understanding of BOQ and quantity take-off.

Ability to read engineering drawings.

Basic knowledge of fire protection / MEP systems will be an advantage.

Valuable knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.

Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.

Good mathematical and analytical skills.

Ability to prepare professional commercial documents.

Good communication and vendor/client follow-up skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Good documentation and record-keeping skills.

Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple tender requirements.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per hour
