Role & responsibilities To identify, assess, monitor, and control occupational health hazards associated with starch manufacturing operations, ensuring a protected and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. The role focuses on industrial hygiene, workplace exposure monitoring, dust hazard control, chemical safety, occupational health surveillance, and compliance with applicable health and safety regulations.

Preferred candidate profile

Industrial Hygiene and Workplace Monitoring

- Identify and assess occupational health hazards across starch processing, drying, milling, screening, packing, and utility operations.
- Conduct workplace exposure assessments for airborne starch dust, nuisance dust, chemicals, fumes, noise, heat stress, and other relevant hazards.
- Coordinate personal and area air sampling for respirable and inhalable dust, as applicable.
- Monitor employee exposure to noise, chemical vapours, and other workplace contaminants.
- Arrange periodic industrial hygiene surveys through competent personnel or accredited laboratories.
- Maintain exposure monitoring records and compare results with applicable occupational exposure limits.
