This role is with a well-established MEP/EPC contracting organisation headquartered in Gurgaon, delivering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-protection and building-automation systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, data-centre and infrastructure projects. The search is being managed by Cusec Consulting, a management and talent-advisory firm partnering with leading real-estate, infrastructure and MEP/EPC organisations.

We are seeking an HVAC Design Engineer to design and engineer HVAC systems from concept to detailed engineering — heat-load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping design, and technical documentation — for commercial, industrial, healthcare, data-centre and high-rise projects.

Role overview

Reporting to the Design Manager / Head – MEP Design, the HVAC Design Engineer takes HVAC systems from concept through schematic to detailed design. The role covers heat-load calculations; selection of AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps and ventilation equipment; duct and pipe sizing; preparation of schematics, P&IDs;, equipment schedules and BOQs; and close coordination with other MEP and architectural disciplines — ensuring compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, ECBC, NBC and IS standards.

Key responsibilities

1. Design development. Prepare concept, schematic and detailed HVAC designs and the control philosophy.
2. Load calculations & selection. Perform heat-load calculations and select AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat pumps, condensing units and ventilation fans.
3. Duct & pipe design. Design chilled-water, condenser-water, DX, VRF, ventilation and exhaust systems; perform duct sizing, pipe sizing and static-pressure calculations.
4. Documentation. Prepare HVAC schematics,



P&IDs;, equipment schedules, BOQs, technical specifications and tender documents.
5. Coordination & review. Coordinate with Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV, Civil and Architectural teams; review vendor drawings, submittals and equipment selections.
6. Compliance & support. Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, ECBC, NBC and project specifications; support execution, commissioning and as-built documentation.

Required qualifications and skills
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–8 years’ experience in HVAC design for building-services / MEP projects.
- Heat-load calculations and HVAC equipment selection using industry-standard software.
- Duct and pipe sizing, static-pressure calculations, schematics and P&IDs.;
- Knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NBC, ECBC, IS standards and NFPA.
- Solid coordination, documentation and BOQ-preparation skills.

Preferred (good to have)
- Experience across commercial, healthcare, data-centre or semiconductor projects.
- Exposure to Revit MEP / BIM-based design workflows.
- Experience with tender and detailed-engineering documentation.
