Job Title: HR Manager (HR Business Partner)

Location: Bandra, Mumbai (Work from office)

About the Role

This role is focused on HR business partnering, payroll oversight, performance management and compliance. Recruitment and vendor sourcing are handled by a separate team member, so this role involves minimal talent acquisition work. Most of your time will go into working with employees, managers and leadership to build a well-run, people-focused workplace.

Key Responsibilities

HR Business Partnering (primary focus)

- Partner with department heads to plan people strategies for teams and the organisation
- Understand each department's needs and suggest practical HR solutions on structure, roles, engagement and retention
- Handle employee grievances fairly and in a timely manner, and maintain records of resolutions
- Address and resolve grievances or issues raised by vendors and third-party partners, where applicable
- Act as the point of contact for employee relations and workplace concerns

Payroll Management

- Review and verify monthly payroll, attendance and leave data prepared by the HR Associate
- Ensure salaries are accurate and processed on time
- Manage salary structures, revisions,



full and final settlements and related queries

Performance Management

- Run the performance management cycle for all employees, including goal setting, mid-year reviews and annual appraisals
- Coordinate with managers to ensure timely and fair evaluations
- Manage increments and appraisal letters based on review outcomes

Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Gratuity, Shops & Establishment Act, etc.)
- Maintain HR policies, employee records and documentation
- Coordinate with consultants or auditors on compliance matters as needed

What We're Looking For

- 3–4 years of experience in a generalist or HRBP role
- Experience in a startup or small-to-mid-sized organisation (real estate industry experience preferred)
- Hands-on understanding of payroll, appraisals and Indian labour law compliance
- Strong people skills, with the maturity to handle grievances and sensitive conversations
- Comfortable working independently and wearing multiple hats
- Valuable command of MS Excel / Google Sheets; experience with an HRMS is a plus

Office located in Bandra Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
