We are seeking a seasoned, strategic, and high-impact leader to join our executive leadership team as Head of Department – Supply Chain & Inventory Management.

In this role, you will be end-to-end responsible for transforming and steering our supply chain ecosystem—encompassing raw material sourcing, farm-to-factory logistics, cold-chain management, multi-location warehouse operations, central inventory optimization, and pan-India distribution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & SCM Vision

- Define and execute the end-to-end Supply Chain strategy aligned with business growth goals in the Food & Agro sector.
- Drive digital transformation across SCM (implementation of advanced ERP, WMS, IoT, and automated inventory tracking tools).
- Optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), logistics footprint, and operational efficiency across the supply chain network.

2. Agro Procurement & Farm-to-Fork Logistics

- Oversee agri-commodity procurement strategies, seasonal crop planning, raw material sourcing, and vendor relationship management.
- Manage perishable goods logistics, ensuring strict temperature control, cold chain integrity, and minimal transit losses.

3. Advanced Inventory Control & Loss Reduction

- Lead multi-site inventory governance for perishable raw materials, packaging, WIP, and finished goods.
- Implement robust Demand Forecasting, S&OP; (Sales and Operations Planning), FEFO/FIFO compliance, and shrinkage/spoilage mitigation models.




- Maintain optimal safety stock levels across central distribution centers (CDCs) and regional warehouses while maximizing stock turnover.

4. Warehousing, Distribution & Cold Chain Operations

- Oversee large-scale warehouse operations, ambient/cold storage facilities, and logistics distribution networks across India and export routes.
- Streamline 3PL/4PL vendor management, transport contracts, and fleet utilization.

5. Compliance, Quality & Sustainability

- Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards (FSSAI, ISO, HACCP) across transport, storage, and handling processes.
- Lead sustainable supply chain initiatives, eco-friendly packaging strategies, and green logistics practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Education: B.Tech / B.E. / B.Sc (Agri / Food Tech) + Full-time MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Logistics from a premier institute.
- Experience: 21 to 32 years of progressive experience, with at least 5–8 years leading a complete SCM function as HOD/VP/Director.
- Industry Mandate: Extensive experience in Food Processing, Agro-Commodities, Beverages, FMCG (Food), or Perishable Goods Logistics.
- Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of Agro-Sourcing, Cold Chain Infrastructure, S&OP; Planning, Perishable Inventory Management, and FSSAI Compliance.
- Leadership & Scale: Proven track record of managing multi-hundred crore budgets and large direct/indirect teams across multi-location plants and warehouses.
- Location: Must be willing to work from Chennai (or already based in Chennai).
