About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Finance & Accounts professional to lead the accounting and financial management function at our coal washery unit in Kharsia. The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, cost control, budgeting, taxation, statutory compliance, audits, and management information systems (MIS).

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of financial and cost accounting, experience in handling industrial accounting operations, and the ability to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective financial controls. Candidates with prior experience in coal washery accounting will be preferred, while Chartered Accountants and other suitably qualified professionals with relevant experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Accounting & Financial Management

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

Ensure accurate recording, classification, and maintenance of financial transactions.

Review trial balances, ledgers, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial records.

Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.

Maintain proper documentation and financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

- Cost Accounting & Cost Control

Monitor and analyse coal washery operating costs, processing costs, overheads, and other operational expenses.

Track actual expenditure against budgets and identify cost variances.

Support cost allocation, cost centre accounting, and cost analysis.

Review vendor bills, contractor expenses, service invoices, and other operational payments.

Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and strengthen financial controls.

- Budgeting, Forecasting & MIS

Assist in preparing annual budgets, periodic forecasts,



and financial plans.

Prepare and review monthly MIS reports, financial summaries, expenditure statements, and variance analysis.

Provide financial insights and reports to management for decision-making.

Monitor budget utilisation, cash flow, working capital, and outstanding balances.

Ensure timely submission of accurate financial reports to management.

- Taxation & Statutory Compliance

Oversee GST, TDS, income tax, and other applicable tax compliances.

Ensure timely preparation and filing of statutory returns and payment of applicable taxes.

Coordinate tax assessments, notices, reconciliations, and related documentation.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal policies.

- Audit & Internal Controls

Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, tax audits, and other applicable audits.

Prepare audit schedules, supporting documents, reconciliations, and financial statements.

Review audit observations and ensure timely closure of pending issues.

Establish and monitor internal financial controls to minimise errors, discrepancies, and financial risks.

Ensure adherence to company policies, approval processes, and financial procedures.

- Vendor, Contractor & Reconciliation Management

Supervise vendor and contractor accounting, invoice verification, payment processing, and account reconciliations.

Monitor outstanding payables and receivables and resolve discrepancies.

Coordinate with procurement, operations, commercial, and other departments regarding financial transactions.

Ensure proper supporting documentation for invoices, purchase orders, service entries, and payments.

- Team Management & Coordination

Manage and supervise the Accounts team and allocate responsibilities effectively.





Review the accuracy and timeliness of accounting activities performed by team members.

Coordinate with unit management, corporate finance, auditors, banks, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with reporting timelines and maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Educational Qualification

Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.

Candidates with a relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce, such as M.Com, MBA Finance, or equivalent, may also be considered based on relevant experience and expertise.

Experience Requirements

Relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, with demonstrated capability to independently manage accounting operations.

Prior experience in a coal washery or coal processing unit will be preferred.

Experience in industrial accounting, cost control, financial reporting, taxation, audit coordination, and MIS.

Experience in handling vendor and contractor accounts, reconciliations, budgeting, and financial controls.

Required Skills

Solid knowledge of financial accounting and cost accounting.

Expertise in financial reporting, taxation, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.

Proficiency in budgeting, MIS preparation, variance analysis, and cost control.

Working knowledge of ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, reconciliation, and organisational skills.

Leadership ability, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be a responsible and detail-oriented Accounts professional capable of independently managing the Finance & Accounts function of a coal washery unit. Candidates with direct coal washery accounting experience and strong expertise in cost management, taxation, financial reporting, and compliance will be preferred.

Qualification Preference: CA preferred; other suitably qualified and experienced candidates may apply.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
