Role Summary

Lead the strategy, architecture and development of digital solutions for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), transforming BESS into a connected, intelligent and software-enabled energy asset.

Own the end-to-end digital ecosystem covering BMS, PCS, EMS, SCADA, Edge, Cloud, Data Analytics, AI/ML, Digital Twin and Fleet Management.

Key Responsibilities

- Define the BESS digital strategy, technology roadmap and product roadmap.
- Own the end-to-end digital architecture from Battery → BMS → PCS → EMS → SCADA → Edge → Cloud.
- Develop digital platforms for BESS monitoring, fleet management, asset health and remote diagnostics.
- Lead battery analytics including SOC, SOH, SOP, degradation, RUL and battery health prediction.
- Develop AI/ML-based predictive maintenance, anomaly detection and failure prediction solutions.
- Lead development of BESS digital twin and performance optimization capabilities.
- Develop digital solutions for EMS optimization, energy arbitrage, renewable integration and degradation-aware dispatch.
- Establish customer-facing digital dashboards and applications for BESS performance, availability, efficiency and asset health.
- Drive digital lifecycle management from cell/module/rack/container through site and fleet.




- Define BESS data, cloud/edge, API, interoperability and cybersecurity architecture.
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary team covering software, data engineering, AI/ML, cloud/edge, analytics and digital applications.
- Manage strategic technology partners and develop proprietary digital IP for BESS.

Candidate Profile
- 15–20+ years of experience in BESS, battery systems, BMS, PCS/EMS, renewable energy or energy digitalization. (utility/C&I; customer)
- Min master’s degree in electrical/Electronics/Computer science
- Should have previous experience of building & leading such digital organisation for min of 5 years.
- Strong experience in utility-scale BESS and digital/IoT platforms.
- Solid understanding of BMS, PCS, EMS, SCADA and battery degradation.
- Experience in cloud/edge, data analytics, AI/ML and digital twin.
- Knowledge of industrial protocols such as CAN, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC-UA and MQTT.
- Proven experience in building and leading multidisciplinary technology teams.
- Strong combination of technology leadership, product thinking and customer orientation.
