We're building a platform where small business owners can access powerful AI capabilities without needing to navigate complicated marketing dashboards or manage multiple software tools.

We're looking for a passionate, proactive, and technically curious Frontend Developer Intern to join our engineering team and contribute to building intuitive, responsive, and high-performance user experiences.

You'll collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend engineers, AI engineers, and technical leads to transform product ideas and Figma designs into functional, production-quality interfaces.

Key Roles &

• Responsibilities1.

Frontend

Development

1. Develop responsive, interactive, and visually polished web interfaces using modern frontend technologies.
2. Convert Figma designs into functional, pixel-accurate frontend implementations.
3. Build reusable components, layouts, navigation systems, forms, and interactive UI elements.
4. Implement smooth animations, transitions, micro-interactions, and engaging user experiences.
5. Ensure consistent styling, responsive behavior, and design quality across different devices and screen sizes.
6. Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-structured frontend code.

2. Website & • Product Development
1. Contribute to the development and improvement of Purple Business's website, landing pages, and web-based product interfaces.
2. Build interactive sections, business dashboards, onboarding experiences, and other product components.
3. Develop engaging product demonstrations and AI-powered interface experiences.
4. Collaborate with designers to implement new features and improve existing user journeys.
5. Optimize website performance, loading speed, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
6. Support website conversion optimization through improved forms, calls to action, and user experience.

3. Backend & • AI Integration
1. Collaborate with backend developers to integrate REST APIs and other application services.
2. Connect frontend interfaces with business data, authentication systems, and relevant backend functionality.
3. Work with AI engineers to integrate AI-powered features into user-facing experiences.
4. Build interfaces for AI chat, recommendations, generated content, automation controls, and interactive workflows.
5. Implement appropriate loading states, error handling, notifications, and user feedback mechanisms.
6. Ensure smooth communication between frontend components and backend services.

4. UI/UX Collaboration & • Product Quality
1. Work closely with the UI/UX design team to understand product requirements and visual specifications.
2. Participate in discussions around usability, component behavior, interaction patterns, and user experience improvements.
3. Suggest improvements to interface design based on technical feasibility and frontend best practices.

Maintain visual consistency through reusable components and design systems.
5. Test frontend functionality across common browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
6. Identify and fix UI bugs, layout inconsistencies, and performance issues.

Collaboration &

• Task Management
1. Collaborate with frontend developers, backend engineers, AI engineers, QA testers, and project managers.
2. Work with the project management team to organize and track development tasks using Trello or similar tools.
3. Break assigned features into smaller development tasks with clear deliverables.
4. Regularly communicate development progress, challenges, dependencies, and blockers.
5. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mutually scheduled engineering meetings.
6. Use Git and GitHub for version control, collaboration, and code management.

6. AI-Assisted Development & • Engineering Productivity
1. Explore AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, and other approved coding assistants.
2. Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate development, debugging, testing, and documentation.
3. Experiment with contemporary frontend libraries, frameworks, and implementation techniques.
4. Review and validate AI-generated code before integrating it into the codebase.
5. Identify opportunities to improve development efficiency, frontend architecture, and reusable components.

Required Skills
- Good understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with React.js and modern component-based frontend development.
- Basic understanding of responsive design and mobile-first development.
- Ability to translate Figma designs into working interfaces.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and frontend-backend integration.
- Basic knowledge of Git and GitHub.
- Understanding of frontend debugging and browser developer tools.
- Strong attention to detail and interest in building polished user experiences.
- Willingness to learn, experiment, and collaborate with a technical team.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
- Familiarity with component libraries and up-to-date frontend UI frameworks.
- Understanding of web performance optimization, SEO, and accessibility.
- Experience building dashboards, SaaS interfaces, or AI-powered applications.
- Familiarity with frontend testing tools.
- Basic understanding of authentication, state management, and API integration.
- Exposure to Flutter or mobile application development.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools.

Internship Compensation & Future OpportunitiesThis is an unpaid internship. No fixed monthly stipend or salary is currently offered. Purple Business is in its early product development and growth stage.

We intend to provide hands-on learning opportunities, practical project experience, technical mentorship, and exposure to building a real AI-powered product.

As Purple Business grows through funding or sustainable subscription revenue, there may be opportunities to transition into paid internships or full-time frontend engineering positions.

Any future paid opportunity will depend on performance, company growth, financial capacity, organizational requirements, and mutual agreement. A paid role is not guaranteed.

The internship arrangement, including its unpaid nature, duration, working hours, training, supervision, and any remuneration required by applicable law, must be confirmed in writing before commencement. Any legally required compensation will be provided.
