About the Opportunity

NextMantra Solutions is looking to engage an experienced Freelance Data Architect / Data & Analytics Architect to design and develop an enterprise data architecture that integrates data from multiple transactional and operational systems into a structured, scalable, analytics-ready environment.

The consultant will be responsible for assessing the existing data landscape, defining the target architecture, developing enterprise data models, and establishing data integration and analytical modelling standards.

We are looking for a hands-on consultant who can both design the architecture and develop or review actual data models , rather than someone limited to high-level advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess existing data sources, applications, databases, and data silos.
- Design architecture to transform data from OLTP systems into OLAP and analytical structures.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Design dimensional models, including fact tables, dimensions, star and snowflake schemas, hierarchies, and measures.
- Define suitable Data Warehouse, Data Lake, or Lakehouse architecture.
- Design ETL/ELT architecture and data pipelines to integrate data from heterogeneous systems.
- Develop common enterprise data models across business and operational applications.
- Design semantic models to support BI dashboards, reporting, and advanced analytics.
- Define standards and requirements for master/reference data, metadata, data lineage, data quality, and governance.
- Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and high-volume data processing.
- Prepare architecture diagrams, data model documentation, integration patterns, and technical standards.
- Collaborate with application, business, data engineering, BI, and analytics teams.




- Provide knowledge transfer and implementation guidance to the internal team.

Required Skills and Expertise
- Robust hands-on experience in enterprise data architecture.
- Deep understanding of OLTP and OLAP architectures.
- Expertise in data warehousing and enterprise data modelling.
- Strong knowledge of relational and dimensional data modelling.
- Practical experience with fact tables, dimension tables, star schemas, and snowflake schemas.
- Experience designing ETL/ELT frameworks and data integration pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale data modelling.
- Knowledge of Data Lake and Lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
- Understanding of BI semantic modelling and analytics-ready data structures.
- Knowledge of data governance, master/reference data, metadata management, lineage, and data quality.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in manufacturing or complex, multi-system enterprise environments.
- Experience integrating data from multiple ERP, CRM, transactional, and operational systems.
- Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms and enterprise BI tools.
- Experience defining enterprise-wide data standards and reusable data models.
