Role Description This part-time remote role is for a New Relic Expert with at least 8 years of experience implementing and optimizing application performance monitoring solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring New Relic agents, dashboards, alerts, and custom instrumentation to monitor application health and performance across multiple environments.

The expert will analyze metrics, traces, and logs to identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot performance issues, and recommend optimizations to development and operations teams. The role also includes collaborating with stakeholders to define monitoring strategies, documenting best practices, and mentoring internal teams on effective use of New Relic. The contractor will work independently, manage priorities, and provide regular status updates and actionable insights to project leads.

Qualifications

6+ but should have positive experience we are looking to hire an experienced New Relic implementation specialist,



preferably a female candidate, with strong hands-on experience in banking or financial services.

The candidate should have proven implementation experience across New Relic APM, infrastructure monitoring, end-to-end observability, AIOps, anomaly detection, event correlation, RCA, predictive alerting & automated remediation workflows.

This needs to be a genuinely hands-on implementation resource who can work directly within a complex banking production environment, not just someone with theoretical or presales exposure.

- Strong expertise in New Relic configuration, dashboard creation, alerting, and custom instrumentation for complex, distributed applications.
- Hands-on experience with application performance monitoring (APM), observability, and troubleshooting across back-end services, APIs, and front-end applications.
- Solid knowledge of modern application architectures (e.g., microservices, cloud-native, containers) and common technology stacks such as Java, .NET, Node.js, or similar.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD environments, including integrating monitoring into deployment pipelines.
- Ability to interpret metrics, logs, and traces to diagnose issues, optimize resource usage, and improve reliability and response times.
- Effective communication skills to present findings, advise technical teams, and document monitoring standards and procedures.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in performance engineering, site reliability engineering, or similar roles; prior consulting or freelance experience is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
