Role Description: This full-time, on-site Formulation Chemist role is based in Hyderabad and focuses on developing and optimising pet grooming and Home hygiene care products.
The Formulation Chemist will design, test, and refine formulations to meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards, working closely with manufacturing partners and internal stakeholders. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting lab experiments, performing stability and compatibility studies, maintaining detailed documentation, and supporting the scale-up and commercialisation of new products. The role also involves collaborating with quality control and R&D; teams to troubleshoot formulation issues, improve existing products, and ensure consistent quality across batches.
The chemist will contribute to innovation initiatives, evaluate recent raw materials and technologies,
and support continuous improvement in product efficacy and user experience.
Qualifications
At least 2 products taken from the lab all the way to market
- Strong formulation expertise with demonstrated experience in developing and optimising hygiene, personal care, or pet care products.
- Proficient analytical and laboratory skills, including handling lab equipment, conducting tests, and accurately interpreting results.
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D;), including experimental design, data analysis, and explicit, structured reporting of findings.
- Knowledge of quality control principles and practices to ensure product consistency, safety, and compliance with relevant standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with regulatory and safety requirements for cosmetic, hygiene, or pet care products (national and international standards preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external manufacturing partners.
- Prior experience in pet care, cosmetic, or FMCG formulation environments is an advantage.
