This role is with a well-established MEP/EPC contracting organisation headquartered in Gurgaon, delivering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-protection and building-automation systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, data-centre and infrastructure projects. The search is being managed by Cusec Consulting, a management and talent-advisory firm partnering with leading real-estate, infrastructure and MEP/EPC organisations.

We are seeking a Fire Fighting Design Engineer to design and engineer fire-protection systems — hydrant, sprinkler, foam, clean-agent and water-mist — with hydraulic calculations, equipment selection, BOQs and multidisciplinary coordination, to NFPA, NBC, IS and FM Global standards.

Role overview

Reporting to the Design Manager / Head – MEP Design, the Fire Fighting Design Engineer designs fire-protection systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, data-centre and infrastructure projects. The role covers hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing, pump/tank/valve selection, preparation of layouts, schematics, riser diagrams and P&IDs;, BOQs and specifications, and coordination with other disciplines — ensuring compliance with NFPA, NBC, IS Codes and FM Global and supporting authority approvals.

Key responsibilities

1. System design. Design fire-hydrant, automatic-sprinkler, foam, clean-agent, water-mist and hose-reel systems and fire pump rooms.
2. Hydraulic calculations. Perform hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing; select fire pumps, tanks, valves and associated equipment.
3. Drawings. Prepare fire-protection layouts, schematics, riser diagrams and P&IDs.;
4. Documentation. Prepare BOQs,



material specifications and technical submittals; review vendor drawings and submittals.
5. Coordination. Coordinate with HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil and Architectural teams.
6. Compliance & support. Ensure compliance with NFPA, NBC, IS Codes, FM Global and client specifications; support testing, commissioning, authority approvals and as-built / handover documentation.

Required qualifications and skills
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Engineering.
- 3–8 years’ experience in fire-protection design for building-services / MEP projects.
- Hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing and fire-pump selection.
- Sprinkler, hydrant, foam and clean-agent system design; fire-water storage design.
- Knowledge of NFPA, NBC, IS Codes, FM Global and local fire-authority regulations.
- BOQ preparation, technical specifications and multidisciplinary coordination.

Preferred (good to have)
- Experience across commercial, healthcare, data-centre or semiconductor projects.
- Exposure to Revit MEP / BIM-based design workflows.
- Experience coordinating fire-authority / third-party approvals.
