Job Profile

We are looking for a talented and creative Fine Arts Artist with excellent hand-sketching skills to develop traditional and contemporary designs for Banarasi sarees.

The ideal candidate should be proficient in sketching traditional motifs, patterns, borders, pallus and other design elements used in Banarasi sarees. The candidate must be able to understand design references from Pinterest, social media, and creative briefs provided by the management, and translate those ideas into original, detailed sketches.

Key Responsibilities

1. Traditional design sketching: Create detailed hand sketches of traditional Banarasi motifs, floral patterns, bels, butis, jaal designs, and other heritage-inspired patterns.
2. Design development: Translate visual references from Pinterest, social media, photographs and management-provided concepts into sketches suitable for saree production.
3. Saree design understanding: Understand the structure and terminology of a saree, including:

- Pallu: The decorative end portion of the saree.
- Border: The decorative design running along the edges.
- Ground: The main body of the saree.
- Blouse: The matching blouse piece and its design requirements.

1. Design coordination: Develop coordinated designs for the pallu, border, ground,



butis and blouse so that the complete saree looks harmonious.
2. Design interpretation: Understand the management's instructions and convert concepts into transparent, accurate and production-oriented sketches.
3. Design refinement: Modify and improve sketches based on feedback until the design meets the required specifications.

Candidate Requirements
- BFA or a degree in Fine Arts; candidates with exceptional traditional sketching skills may also be considered.
- Excellent drawing, sketching and detailing abilities.
- Strong understanding of traditional Indian art, motifs, patterns and ornamental design.
- Ability to interpret references and develop original design concepts.
- Willingness to work full-time from our office in Varanasi.
- A keen eye for detail, creativity, patience and the ability to follow instructions.
- Prior experience in textile, saree, fashion or surface-pattern design will be an advantage, but is not mandatory for an exceptionally skilled fresher.

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a practical sketching assignment as part of the selection process.

We are looking for someone who can combine strong artistic ability with a practical understanding of Banarasi saree design.

Pay: ₹5,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month
