Drive holistic farmer productivity, profitability, and sustainability through the integration of dairy and crop systems. The role focuses on end-to-end farm optimization (input → production → quality → market linkage) while ensuring strong field execution, farmer adoption, and alignment with organizational procurement and quality goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Integrated Farm Development & Planning
- Develop farm-specific annual plans integrating crops, fodder, livestock, beekeeping and allied activities.
- Optimize land use for vegetables and greens, fodder, buffer zones (trees), and other crops.
- Align production plans with water availability, seasonality, and market demand.
- Build a pipeline of farms for future induction and scaling.
2. Dairy Development & Livestock Productivity
- Improve milk yield, reproduction efficiency, and herd health in coordination with veterinary teams.
- Identify and address feeding gaps, breeding inefficiencies, and management issues.
- Support clean milk production practices, hygiene, and housing improvements.
- Plan animal induction, culling, and breeding cycles to ensure consistent milk supply.
3. Fodder & Nutrition Management
- Promote high-yield fodder systems (multi-cut varieties, perennial grasses).
- Design year-round fodder calendars, including silage and hay strategies.
- Ensure balanced ration practices and reduce feed cost per liter.
- Drive fodder self-sufficiency at farm level.
4. Crop Agronomy & Soil Health
- Provide season-wise crop advisory (varieties, spacing, input use).
- Implement soil test-based nutrient management plans.
- Ensure regenerative and organic farming practices.
- Improve yield, soil organic carbon, and input efficiency.
5. Crop–Livestock Integration
- Enable residue-to-feed systems (straw, stover, by-products).
- Promote composting, slurry utilization, and biogas systems.
- Close nutrient loops to reduce costs and improve soil fertility.
6. Water & Resource Efficiency
- Advice on irrigation scheduling, water budgeting, and resource optimization.
- Promote micro-irrigation, mulching, and energy-productive practices.
- Improve labor, water, and energy productivity at farm level.
7. Farmer Mobilization, Training & Adoption
- Conduct training programs on integrated farming systems.
- Build farmer groups, lead farmer networks, and model farms.
- Drive behavior changes and sustained adoption of best practices.
- Develop progressive farmers as demonstration units.
8. Procurement Planning & Cluster Development
- Support formation and strengthening of clusters and mini clusters.
- Align farm production with milk procurement targets and market demand.
- Work closely with logistics and procurement teams for route optimization.
- Minimize milk diversion, rejection, and seasonal fluctuations.
9. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to milk quality standards (TS, SNF, MBRT,
antibiotic-free, etc.).
- Maintain zero tolerance for contamination and quality deviations.
- Support implementation of organic and certification protocols.
- Drive compliance with clean milk production and farm-level QA systems.
10. Financial Linkages & Farmer Profitability
- Facilitate access to finance through banks/NBFCs/microfinance institutions.
- Ensure proper utilization and repayment linked to milk income.
- Improve farm economics: reduce cost of production and increase revenue.
- Target farmer income enhancement and long-term sustainability.
11. Data, MIS & Technology Deployment
- Ensure accurate data recording via digital tools (farm, animal, milk data).
- Track KPIs at farm and cluster level.
- Use data analytics for decision-making and performance improvement.
- Drive adoption of technology platforms for field monitoring and reporting.
12. Team Coordination & Capacity Building
- Work closely with veterinary, agronomy, procurement, and quality teams.
- Support and guide extension staff, area in-charges, and field teams.
- Build technical and leadership capacity within the team.
- Conduct regular reviews, feedback sessions, and performance tracking.
13. Operations, Cost Optimization
- Improve operational efficiency and cost per liter.
Coverage Norms (Indicative)
- 50 farmers per officer (cluster-based)
- 8–10 farm visits per day (advisory + follow-ups)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of agronomy and dairy nutrition
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
