Sr. Engineer – Estimation & Billing

Industry: Real Estate / Construction Location: Pune

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering Experience: 6–10 Years

Reporting To: Manager – Estimation & Contracts / Project Head

Key Responsibilities

1. Estimation & Quantity Surveying

- Prepare detailed project estimates, BOQs and quantity take-offs based on architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Verify quantities for RCC, steel, shuttering, civil, finishing and allied works.
- Conduct rate analysis considering material, labour, equipment and other applicable costs.
- Identify quantity discrepancies and assess the cost impact of drawing revisions.

2. Contractor Billing & Measurement

- Verify and process contractor RA bills and final bills against approved BOQs, drawings and actual site measurements.
- Conduct joint measurements with site teams and contractors, wherever required.
- Validate rates, deductions, recoveries, retention and other applicable contractual provisions.
- Ensure accurate measurement records and timely bill certification.

3. Cost-Monitoring & Variations

- Monitor project quantities and costs against approved estimates and budgets.
- Identify and evaluate extra items, deviations and variations, ensuring necessary approvals.
- Track quantity variations,



material consumption and potential cost overruns.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and highlight commercial risks to management.

4. Tendering & Commercial Coordination

- Prepare tender BOQs, analyze contractor quotations and prepare comparative statements.
- Coordinate with Project, Design, Procurement and Accounts teams for estimation, billing and cost-related matters.
- Resolve measurement and billing discrepancies with contractors and site teams.
- Maintain project-wise estimation, billing and cost MIS for management review.
- Prepare project budget & pre-construction estimation.

Desired Candidate Profile

- 6–10 years of relevant experience in real estate or construction, preferably in residential/high-rise projects.
- Strong expertise in quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, rate analysis and contractor billing.
- Hands-on experience in RA bills, final bills, site measurements and variation management.
- Good understanding of RCC, civil and finishing works, drawings and construction specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD and estimation/billing tools.
- Robust analytical, commercial and coordination skills, with the ability to independently manage estimation and billing activities.
