Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical CFD Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of advanced cooling systems for large diesel, gas, and power generation engines. This role focuses on leveraging Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and thermal simulation techniques to improve radiator, fan, heat exchanger, and complete cooling package performance across applications such as power generation, mining, marine, rail, data centers, and heavy-duty off-highway equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting aerodynamic, thermal, and flow analyses using industry-leading simulation tools to support product development from concept through validation and production. The ideal engineer combines strong fundamentals in fluid flow and heat transfer with practical experience in CFD methodologies, including Navier-Stokes (N-S) based solvers and Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) approaches.

Key Responsibilities

CFD Thermal Analysis

- Perform CFD simulations for cooling systems, radiators, heat exchangers, fan systems, engine compartments, and complete cooling packages.
- Conduct airflow, pressure drop, thermal, and conjugate heat transfer analyses.
- Evaluate cooling performance under various operating and environmental conditions.
- Analyse velocity distribution, temperature fields, flow recirculation, and thermal effectiveness.
- Support system optimization through simulation-driven design improvements.

Fan Airflow Performance Analysis

- Model and analyse axial, centrifugal, and engine cooling fan systems.
- Assess fan operating points, system resistance curves, airflow distribution, and aerodynamic performance.
- Investigate airflow management strategies including shrouds,

ducting, louvers, and engine enclosure ventilation.
- Support fan selection and cooling package optimization activities.

Simulation Methodology Development

- Perform Develop simulation methodologies for thermal management and cooling applications.

- Apply and validate both
- Navier-Stokes (RANS, URANS, LES) based CFD approaches.
- Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) simulations.

- Support Define meshing strategies, boundary conditions, solver settings, and post-processing procedures.
- Correlate simulation results with laboratory and field test data.

Product Development

- Collaborate with design engineers during concept development and product optimization.
- Provide design recommendations to improve thermal performance, airflow distribution, weight, manufacturability, and cost.
- Support new technology evaluations and advanced thermal management solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and engineering decision-making processes.

Testing and Validation

- Support wind tunnel testing, thermal testing, and cooling package validation activities.
- Correlate CFD results with experimental data.
- Investigate performance deviations and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop best-practice guidelines and simulation standards. Cross-functional Collaboration

- Work closely with mechanical design engineers, test engineers,

product development teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Support customer inquiries and performance investigations.
- Present simulation findings and technical recommendations to engineering leadership and stakeholders.

- Mentor junior engineers on simulation methodologies and best practices.

Required Qualifications
