This role is with a well-established MEP/EPC contracting organisation headquartered in Gurgaon, delivering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-protection and building-automation systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, data-centre and infrastructure projects. The search is being managed by Cusec Consulting, a management and talent-advisory firm partnering with leading real-estate, infrastructure and MEP/EPC organisations.

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design and document electrical systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, data-centre and infrastructure projects — SLDs, load calculations, HT/LT distribution, lighting, earthing and lightning protection — with BOQs and multidisciplinary coordination.

Role overview

Reporting to the Design Manager / Head – MEP Design, the Electrical Design Engineer owns electrical design from concept to detailed engineering — Single Line Diagrams, power-distribution layouts, load and demand analysis, HT/LT systems, lighting design (Dialux), cable sizing and voltage-drop/short-circuit calculations, earthing and lightning protection, and cable-tray/conduit layouts — together with technical specifications and BOQs, ensuring compliance with IS, IEC, NBC, ECBC and NFPA.

Key responsibilities

1. Design development. Prepare concept, schematic and detailed electrical designs; develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts and power-distribution drawings.
2. Calculations. Perform electrical load and demand analysis, cable sizing, voltage-drop and short-circuit calculations.
3. Systems design. Design HT/LT power distribution, lighting systems (with Dialux calculations), earthing and lightning-protection systems, and cable-tray / conduit layouts.
4. Documentation.



Prepare technical specifications, BOQs and material schedules; review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
5. Coordination. Coordinate with HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV, Civil and Architectural teams; participate in design-review meetings with clients and consultants.
6. Compliance & support. Ensure compliance with IS, IEC, NBC, ECBC and client standards; provide engineering support during execution and commissioning and prepare as-built drawings.

Required qualifications and skills
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–8 years’ experience in electrical design for MEP projects.
- SLDs, load/demand analysis, cable sizing, voltage-drop and short-circuit calculations.
- Lighting design (Dialux), earthing and lightning protection, HT/LT distribution.
- Knowledge of IS, IEC, NBC, ECBC, NFPA and local electrical regulations.
- Technical specifications, BOQ preparation and multidisciplinary coordination.

Preferred (valuable to have)
- Experience across commercial, healthcare, data-centre or semiconductor projects.
- Exposure to Revit MEP / BIM-based design workflows.
- Exposure to ELV-system design.
