The Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users within the organization. This role ensures smooth functioning of desktops, laptops, operating systems, printers, and other IT-related hardware/software. The engineer troubleshoots issues, maintains system performance, and assists in the installation and configuration of IT equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Troubleshoot system errors and resolve user queries in a timely manner.
- Manage user accounts, email setup, and access permissions.
- Monitor and maintain system performance, updates, and security patches.
- Document technical issues and resolutions for future reference.
- Collaborate with IT team for escalated support issues.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
- Assist in IT asset inventory management.





Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of Windows/Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, and printers.
- Basic understanding of antivirus, firewalls, and system security.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Solid communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure.

Qualification & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred).
- Diploma/Certification in Hardware & Networking (CompTIA A+, N+, MCSE, CCNA preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support or desktop support role.
