Role Description The Design Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Jalandhar.

The Design

Engineer will be responsible for creating and refining designs for bus and coach bodies, integrating mechanical and electrical components to meet safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include developing detailed CAD models and drawings, collaborating with production and procurement teams, and reviewing designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. The role involves coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, preparing technical documentation, and supporting the resolution of design-related issues during fabrication and assembly.

The Design





Engineer will also participate in continuous improvement efforts, helping to enhance product quality and streamline design processes.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to vehicle body and structural design.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D drafting and 3D modeling, and experience generating accurate technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering concepts relevant to vehicle systems, including integration of wiring, lighting, and auxiliary electrical components.
- Experience in Product Design, particularly for automotive or industrial applications, with attention to safety, ergonomics, durability, and aesthetics.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to interpret standards and regulations applicable to vehicle construction and safety.
- Strong problem-solving skills, detail orientation, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in office.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with production staff, suppliers, and customers; prior experience in coach building or automotive manufacturing is an advantage.
