Summary / Purpose of the role The purpose of this role is to:-

- Ensure that products, materials, manufacturing processes, and documentation comply with NPCIL, Indian Navy, customer requirements, approved quality plans, and applicable standards.
- Conduct inspections from raw material receipt to finished product stage and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Coordinate with customers and third-party inspection agencies for stage and final inspections.
- Maintain quality records and support the timely execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect products, assemblies, and components at various stages of production, including incoming, in-process, and final inspections, for in-house and supplier-sourced materials.
- Conduct dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, QAPs (Quality Assurance Plans), ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and customer requirements.
- Ensure traceability of raw materials, components, and finished products.
- Ensure adherence to NPCIL,



Indian Navy or other relevant defense/nuclear quality requirements.
- Verify compliance with applicable standards such as ASME, ASTM, IS, NABL-approved testing requirements, etc.
- Review manufacturing records, inspection reports, test certificates, and material test certificates (MTCs).
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, deviation reports, NCRs, and inspection clearance notes.
- Coordinate inspections with NPCIL inspectors, Indian Navy representatives, customers, and third-party inspection agencies (TPI) & Ensure customer and third-party inspections are conducted as per approved quality plans (QAP/ITP).
- Address customer observations and ensure timely closure of inspection remarks.
- Identify quality issues and raise NCRs when required.
- Conduct process audits & Follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Verify effectiveness of corrective actions before closure.

Skills

- Proficiency in handling measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, specifications, and standards.
- Understanding of welding inspection, NDT methods, pressure testing, and fabrication processes
- Knowledge of quality requirements, inspection procedures, and project documentation for Nuclear and Defence sectors.
- Familiarity with ASME, ASTM, ISO 9001, IS standards, and inspection practices & SAP transactions.
