1. Job Purpose To operate CNC machines safely and efficiently to manufacture components as per approved engineering drawings, customer specifications, production plans, and quality requirements while maintaining productivity, quality, housekeeping, and workplace safety.

2. Roles and Responsibilities

- Operate CNC machines as per approved work instructions, setup sheets, and production plans.
- Understand the basic working principles and operating procedures of CNC turning machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and surface finish requirements.
- Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, outside micrometers, bore gauges, plug gauges, thread gauges, and other applicable inspection tools.
- Perform first-piece inspection and obtain approval from the Quality Department before commencing regular production, as required by the control plan.
- Understand and apply tool offsets, including tool geometry and wear offsets, and work coordinate offsets under authorized procedures.
- Possess basic CNC programming knowledge and understand CNC program codes, including commonly used G-codes and M-codes.
- Understand basic machine setting activities, including tool setting, workpiece loading, tool clamping, and workpiece clamping.
- Identify cutting tools, inserts, insert grades, tool holders, and their applications for different materials and machining operations.
- Monitor insert wear, tool life, dimensional variation, surface finish, and machining abnormalities during production.
- Conduct in-process inspection at the prescribed frequency and record inspection results accurately.
- Maintain production records, rejection reports, tool-change records, and other applicable shop-floor documents.
- Follow approved process parameters, operating instructions, and quality control plans.




- Identify and segregate nonconforming products and immediately report quality issues to the supervisor or Quality Department.
- Follow 5S practices, including sorting, setting in order, cleaning, standardizing, and sustaining workplace discipline.
- Follow all safety requirements, use prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE), and operate machine guards and safety interlocks correctly.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic operator-level maintenance as per the preventive maintenance checklist.
- Report machine breakdowns, abnormal noise, vibration, coolant issues, and other process abnormalities promptly.
- Ensure proper identification, handling, storage, and traceability of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished components.
- Meet daily production targets while maintaining the required quality standards and minimizing rejection and rework.

3. Required Technical Knowledge and Skills

- Basic knowledge of CNC machine operation and machine components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of dimensional measurement and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of tool offsets and work offsets.
- Basic CNC programming and machine-setting knowledge.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, insert grades, and tool holders.
- Understanding of machining parameters such as spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut.
- Basic knowledge of material grades and machining requirements.
- Knowledge of in-process inspection and defect identification.
- Understanding of 5S, workplace safety, and personal protective equipment.
- Ability to maintain production and quality records.

4. Educational Qualification and Experience

Educational Qualification:

- ITI in Machinist or Diploma in Mechanical Enginering

Experience:

- Experience in CNC turning operations is preferred.
- Fresh candidates with relevant technical qualifications may be considered for trainee positions based on competency assessment.

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
