Job Summary

Siemens Mobility is looking for an experienced Kubernetes / Cloud Platform Engineer to design, deploy, manage, and maintain containerized infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Kubernetes cluster administration, AWS infrastructure, high availability, disaster recovery, automation, monitoring, and cloud-native technologies.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring infrastructure reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency while collaborating with globally distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, configure, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and containerized infrastructure in production environments.
- Manage container orchestration and cluster infrastructure using Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, vCluster, and KubeVela.
- Implement high-availability solutions and disaster recovery strategies across AWS cloud and hybrid environments.
- Manage AWS infrastructure components, including VPC, Subnets, Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), EC2 Security Groups, Secrets Manager, EBS Snapshots, ECS, CloudWatch, and SQS.
- Design and maintain backup, recovery, and data lifecycle management solutions using Velero, DynamoDB, RDS PostgreSQL, and Amazon S3.
- Develop infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Python.
- Implement GitOps workflows and deployment automation using ArgoCD and/or FluxCD.
- Configure and maintain monitoring, observability, and service mesh solutions using Istio, Kiali, Grafana, Loki, and Prometheus.




- Support event-driven architectures and data processing pipelines using Apache Kafka and Apache Spark.
- Administer Linux servers, troubleshoot system issues, and maintain secure, reliable infrastructure.
- Configure single sign-on (SSO), authentication, and user access management using Keycloak and/or Okta.
- Ensure infrastructure security, scalability, cost optimization, reliability, and adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams to resolve complex technical issues and improve platform operations.
- Maintain source code and infrastructure configurations using Git, preferably GitLab.

Mandatory Technical Skills
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification.
- Strong hands-on experience in Kubernetes cluster administration and production environment maintenance.
- Positive knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Helm and Kubernetes cluster management.
- Strong Linux administration skills covering clients and servers.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and high-availability architecture.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity concepts, including RTO and RPO.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform and/or Python.
- Experience with Git-based version control and GitOps practices.
- Knowledge of infrastructure security, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.





Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
- AWS Solutions Architect certification.
- vCluster, KubeVela, and Rancher.
- AWS services: VPC, Subnets, ELB, EC2, ECS, Secrets Manager, EBS Snapshots, CloudWatch, and SQS.
- Apache Kafka and Apache Spark ETL pipelines; Java is preferred.
- Velero, DynamoDB, RDS PostgreSQL, and Amazon S3.
- GitLab, ArgoCD, and FluxCD.
- Istio, Kiali, Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
- Keycloak and/or Okta SSO.
- Experience managing hybrid cloud environments and regulatory compliance.

Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a hands-on Kubernetes and Cloud Platform Engineer with strong production infrastructure experience, practical AWS knowledge, automation skills, and an understanding of high availability and disaster recovery.
