Role Overview The Vels Academy is seeking a knowledgeable and committed IGCSE Accountancy Teacher to deliver effective, concept-driven instruction aligned with the Cambridge curriculum. The candidate should be able to simplify accounting concepts, encourage analytical thinking, and prepare students to apply their knowledge confidently in examinations and practical contexts.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE Accounting curriculum.
- Teach core accounting concepts, including double-entry bookkeeping, financial statements, trial balances, bank reconciliation, and correction of errors.
- Develop students’ understanding of accounting principles through practical examples and structured problem-solving.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, assessments, and revision materials.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement appropriate academic support.
- Prepare students for Cambridge examinations through syllabus-based practice and past-paper analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, assessments, and academic progress.
- Collaborate with the academic team to review curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding student progress and learning needs.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, professional development, and other assigned academic responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accountancy, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- B.Ed.



or an equivalent teaching qualification is preferred.
- Prior experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Accounting is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge syllabus, assessment objectives, examination formats, and marking expectations.
- Freshers with strong subject knowledge and effective teaching skills may also be considered.
