ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are hiring an experienced Billing Engineer for our building projects with government departments. The major part of the role is preparing site bills in the office on the basis of drawings: quantity take-off, bar bending schedules (BBS), and running and final bills. The engineer will also prepare contractor bills after verifying the work on site. The role is based at our Gorakhpur office, with site visits whenever measurements, contractor work verification or bill clarifications require it.

The ideal candidate has prepared and cleared bills with departments such as CPWD, NPCC, NBCC, HSCL, C&DS;, UPPCL and PWD, and understands their documentation, measurement book and certification process end to end.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Department Billing from Drawings (RA and Final Bills) (Primary Responsibility)

- Prepare site bills in the office on the basis of architectural and structural drawings; this is the major part of the role.
- Carry out quantity take-off for all building items (earthwork, PCC, RCC, masonry, plaster, flooring, finishes, doors and windows, and services where applicable).
- Prepare abstracts and bill quantities from drawings and cross-check them against the BOQ and work executed.
- Keep billing drawings up to date with the latest revisions and track quantity changes caused by revisions.
- Prepare extra items, deviation statements,



substituted items and rate analysis with supporting justification.

2. Bar Bending Schedule (BBS)

- Prepare and check BBS from structural drawings for footings, columns, beams, slabs, staircases and other RCC members.
- Calculate steel quantities, laps, cutting lengths and wastage, and reconcile steel issued against steel consumed.

3. Contractor Billing with Site Verification

- Prepare and check bills of subcontractors, piece-rate and labour contractors.
- Verify contractor work on site, including quantities, quality and completion, before certifying any bill.
- Cross-check contractor quantities against drawings and client-billed quantities to avoid over-payment.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Only candidates who meet all of the following will be considered:

1. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in billing of building works.
2. Ability to prepare site bills in the office on the basis of drawings (quantity take-off from architectural and structural drawings).
3. Proven experience in preparing bar bending schedules (BBS).
4. Prior billing experience with government departments or PSUs such as CPWD, NPCC, NBCC, HSCL, C&DS;, UPPCL, PWD or similar agencies.
