– AUTOCAD OPERATOR (ELECTRICAL DESIGN & DATA ENTRY)

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting for electrical projects.

Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or AutoCAD certification with relevant electrical drafting experience.

Reporting to: Design Engineer / Project Manager.

Role

Prepare and update electrical drawings, incorporate site measurements and maintain accurate project data, ensuring timely submission of drawings and reports.

Key Responsibilities

- Electrical Design and Drafting
- Prepare electrical drawings in AutoCAD based on engineering inputs, approved designs and client requirements.
- Draft single-line diagrams (SLDs), equipment layouts, cable routes, trench sections, duct layouts, joint bays and earthing layouts.
- Prepare drawings for HV/EHV underground cable works and substation equipment installations.
- Incorporate site survey details, dimensions, utility crossings and route changes accurately.
- Assist the Design Engineer in preparing cable schedules, quantity take-offs and material requirements.
- Drawing Review and Documentation
- Read and understand electrical symbols, drawing scales, dimensions and technical specifications.
- Prepare submission drawings, revise drawings based on comments and maintain revision records.
- Prepare as-built drawings using verified site measurements and execution records.
- Maintain correct drawing numbers, titles, legends, layers and standard formats.
- Ensure only the latest approved drawings are issued to site teams.
- Data Entry and Reporting
- Enter and update project data in Excel and company systems.




- Maintain records of cable lengths, drum details, equipment quantities, material receipts, consumption and work progress.
- Prepare measurement sheets, quantity statements, progress reports and supporting billing records.
- Cross-check entries against site reports and supporting documents; flag missing or inconsistent information.
- Organise drawing files, approvals, site photographs and project documents for easy retrieval.
- Coordination and Timely Completion
- Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors to obtain accurate measurements and drawing inputs.
- Track pending drawings, revisions and data requirements.
- Complete assigned drawings and data updates within agreed deadlines.
- Highlight discrepancies between drawings and site conditions before finalising submissions.

Required Technical Knowledge and Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, including layers, blocks, external references, dimensions, layouts, scaling and plotting.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, SLDs, cable routing, substation layouts and earthing arrangements.
- Ability to read site sketches and convert measurements into accurate drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, including formulas, sorting, filtering and preparation of tables.
- Accurate typing, attention to detail and systematic file management.
- Ability to work from engineer-approved inputs and flag technical uncertainties for review.
- Experience with utility/EPC projects, HV/EHV cable drawings and as-built documentation preferred.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
