1. Job Summary The Assistant Director – Sports is responsible for assisting the Director of Sports in planning, managing, and developing sports activities and athletic programs at Chandigarh University. The role involves coordinating university sports teams, organizing inter-university and intra-university competitions, managing sports facilities, supporting coaches, and promoting student participation and excellence in sports.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Director of Sports in developing and implementing the university's sports policies, annual plans, and performance targets.
- Plan, organize, and supervise inter-college, inter-university, intra-university, and other sporting events.
- Coordinate the selection, training, and participation of university teams in regional, national, and inter-university competitions.
- Supervise coaches, trainers, sports officers, support staff, and other personnel as assigned.




- Monitor athlete performance and support the development of high-performance sports programs.
- Manage sports facilities, playgrounds, indoor stadiums, gymnasiums, and sports equipment.
- Prepare annual sports calendars, event schedules, budgets, and activity reports.
- Coordinate with university departments, sports associations, federations, and external institutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant sports regulations, competition rules, and university policies.
- Promote student engagement, sportsmanship, physical fitness, and a culture of sporting excellence.

3. Educational Qualifications

- Essential qualification: Master's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Management, or a relevant discipline.
- Experience: 5–10 years of relevant experience in university-level sports, sports administration, or competitive sports.
- Desirable: Ph.D. in a relevant field, recognised coaching certification, or a national/international playing record.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
