- Key Roles and Responsibilities

Assembly Planning and Preparation

- Review engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Understand Instrumentation Diagrams, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Plan assembly sequences, manpower requirements, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure all components and materials are available before starting assembly.
- Coordinate with design, production, planning, and procurement teams.

Mechanical Equipment Assembly

- Supervise the assembly of mechanical equipment, valves, pumps, compressors, and pressure-containing components, depending on the project scope.
- Ensure proper fitting, alignment, and installation of mechanical components.
- Verify flange alignment, gasket installation, bolt tightening, and torque requirements.
- Ensure correct installation of seals, bearings, couplings, and other mechanical parts.
- Check clearances, tolerances, and dimensions against approved drawings.
- Ensure assembly activities follow approved work instructions and procedures.

Quality Control and Inspection

- Inspect incoming materials and components against drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, such as ASME, API, ISO, and project-specific requirements.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) department for inspection and testing.
- Verify dimensional accuracy, fit-up, alignment, and assembly quality.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Ensure traceability of materials, components, and inspection records.




- Support pressure testing, leak testing, and functional testing where applicable.

Testing and Commissioning Support

- Support hydrostatic and pneumatic testing where applicable and authorized.
- Verify equipment readiness before testing.
- Check valve operation, actuator functionality, and mechanical movement.
- Assist with functional tests, leak tests, and performance checks.
- Record test results and ensure defects are corrected before final acceptance.
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities when required.

Documentation and Reporting

- Maintain daily assembly progress reports.
- Prepare material consumption and manpower reports.
- Update assembly checklists and inspection records.
- Maintain as-built drawings and redline markups where required.
- Record deviations, rework, and corrective actions.
- Prepare final assembly documentation and handover dossiers.

*Assigning work to technicians and fitters.

*Monitoring production progress and assembly quality.

*Updating daily reports and inspection documentation.

*Ensuring completed assemblies are ready for testing or dispatch.
