ABOUT THE ROLE

Vidya Setu Institute is seeking an Academic Counsellor to guide prospective PhD scholars through programme selection, admissions, documentation, and enrolment. The role is the first point of contact for candidates and requires clear, honest, and supportive communication at every stage of the admission journey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidate Counselling

- Counsel prospective candidates by phone, email, and online meeting.
- Understand each candidate's academic background, research interests, and career goals, and recommend suitable programmes.
- Explain PhD coursework, eligibility criteria, fees, timelines, and admission requirements clearly and accurately.

Follow-up and Application Support

- Follow up consistently with prospective candidates and track their application progress through each stage.
- Guide candidates on documentation and help them submit complete, correct applications.
- Support candidates through enrolment, including fee and onboarding queries.

Records and Coordination

- Maintain accurate, up to date records of enquiries, follow ups, and admissions in the CRM.
- Coordinate with the academic and admissions teams to resolve candidate queries and eligibility questions.
- Share regular updates on lead status and conversions with the reporting manager.

Enrolment Targets

- Support enrolment targets through ethical, transparent,



and informative counselling.
- Present programme information accurately, with no misleading claims or undue pressure on candidates.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

- Minimum 6 months of experience in academic counselling, admissions, education sales, or a related field.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of higher education or research programmes.
- Excellent follow-up and organisational skills.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, email, and online communication tools.

Preferred

- Graduate or postgraduate qualification.
- Familiarity with PhD admissions, research processes, or university regulations.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

- Number of qualified candidates counselled and converted to enrolment.
- Timeliness and consistency of follow-ups.
- Accuracy and completeness of CRM records.
- Candidate experience and quality of information provided.
